Frequently Asked Questions

Where do we meet for the tour?

All of our tours begin in The Commons Plaza at the top of Drake Park just off of Brooks Alley. (Address: 875 NW Brooks Street, Bend, OR 97701). We meet in the plaza across from The Commons Café picnic tables. The best place to park is the parking lot off of Brooks Alley. You will be able to easily identify your tour guide at the plaza because they will be carrying lanterns!

If you have any questions ahead of the tour about how to get to the meeting place, please text us at (541) 350-0732.

How long is the Ghosts and Legends of Downtown Bend Tour?

A 1-mile roundtrip loop of downtown Bend, the tour lasts approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes, and is a mixture of standing, sitting and slow-paced walking.

How long is the Ghost Hunt in Old Bend Tour?

This new, limited-run tour is a 1.5 mile roundtrip loop of downtown Bend. The Ghost Hunt in Old Bend lasts approximately 2 hours and is a mixture of standing and slow-paced walking.

How much do the tours cost?

The Ghosts & Legends of Downtown Bend tour costs $30 for adults and $25 for kids ages 12 and under. Our new Ghost Hunt in Old Bend tour costs $40 per person.

How early should I arrive before my tour time?

We recommend arriving ten minutes ahead of your scheduled tour time. Tours depart from the plaza at the exact time they are scheduled for. Please check-in with your tour guide when you arrive.

Do I need to print out my reservation to check in ahead of the tour?

In an effort to make checking in with your guide as easy as possible, there is no need to print-out your reservation and our booking system doesn’t issue any tickets. All we need at check-in is the full name on the reservation and the number of guests in your party.

Do you guarantee that we see a ghost during a Bend Ghost Tour?

A ghost sighting is a rare, otherworldly experience. Having said that, there’s always a chance you may see something during one of the tours or later throughout your visit here in Central Oregon. The town of Bend is full of history and wherever there’s history, there are ghosts. We encourage you to take photos during the tour and review them after your tour to see what you capture! Many of our guests have captured incredible photographic evidence of the paranormal during the tour.

Are gratuities accepted?

Yes! Your tour guides work hard to bring you the most entertaining and exciting tour possible! Your guides have researched and written these tours. They absolutely love what they do and hope that it shows. Tips are always welcome and very much appreciated.

Is this tour appropriate for children?

We absolutely love sharing history and stories with kids, however, the Ghosts & Legends of Downtown Bend tour features some discussion of prohibition, brothels, and murder in a historical context. It is at the parents’ discretion to determine whether or not their child is easily scared and if the tours are appropriate for them. We recommend this tour for most children ages 8 and above.

Our Ghost Hunt in Old Bend tour is for ages 16 and up.

What is your refund policy?

Customers who cancel in advance of the tour time may reschedule with Bend Ghost Tours (dependent on available tours.) As this is a live performance, we are unable to refund tickets for tours. In the case of severe weather, it will be at the discretion of Bend Ghost Tours, wherein the customer will be given a full refund or offered alternative dates and times where available.

What should I bring on the tour?

Comfortable walking shoes, a hat, weather-appropriate clothes, and water. Bend is in the high desert, and visitors often find the air extremely dry. Since our tour route is a mile long, a bottle of water is recommended. Also, for evening tours, the flashlight app on your phone may come in handy.

For the colder months, we recommend dressing warmly as high desert evenings can be positively bone-chilling! Please check weather conditions for the night of your scheduled tour and dress appropriately.

Are tours ever cancelled for weather purposes?

Our tours are rain or shine events, however in the event of a threatening thunderstorm in the downtown area at our scheduled tour time, we will cancel the tour and you will receive an email notifying you of the cancellation; you can either be issued a refund or rebook on our schedule! We will also cancel in the event of hazardous smoke conditions, heavy snow, or ice.

How far in advance should I book my tour to guarantee a spot?

The months of July, August, and September are the height of tourist season here in Bend and our tours fill up fast. We recommend getting your tickets several days in advance to ensure a spot on a tour. Additionally, October is our busiest month. Be sure to purchase your tickets for October well in advance as most of our tour dates do sell out!

Please visit the BOOK ONLINE page for an up-to-date schedule of all tour times.

Can I bring my dog with me on a tour?

We love dogs here at Bend Ghost Tours! But unfortunately, due to insurance purposes and the consideration of our other guests, we are unable to welcome dogs on the tour at this time. Companion dogs are always welcome.

How many people are in each tour?

Each tour is capped at 30 individuals.
